Teaching Style
Students can also expect a teacher who is patient, understanding, and demands the very best from them to ensure that they are getting the most out of their lessons! Lessons will be dynamic, fun, and challenging at the same time.
I often begin with sight reading and playing by ear before moving on to learning how to read sheet music. I prefer a blend of approaches, starting out with a Suzuki introduction and then continuing with a traditional focus.
Classes and lessons will build on the homework and practice the student has achieved between lessons. I make it a priority to remind students time and time again to practice. It is the only way to improve and achieve their true potential! For more information about practice and helpful tips, refer to How to Get Your Child to Practice.
References, Recommendations, and Professional Recordings
Many pupils play piano in hopes of continuing with their instrument well into their teenage years and adult lives. Thus they seek to put their talent on college admissions applications. Requests for references and assistance in recording tapes to send will happily be fulfilled with advance notice!
